Corozal

The town of Corozal, Belize is the largest in its district, with a population of around 10,000. Although it does have many residents, and is a frequent stop for those traveling through to Mexico, most travelers have called this town one of the most quiet and relatively hidden from tourists, giving a peaceful feel in the atmosphere.

Corozal is a farming town, producing mostly sugar crop, which is very popular in the area. It was built on the ancient Mayan ruin of Chetumal, giving it a great tourist attraction. Corozal is located on the bay, which brings in sea winds, making windsurfing and sailing extremely popular throughout the region.
